Crazy Heart is a monotonous and tired story about alcoholism that is brought to life by some great casting. As you surely have already heard by now, Jeff Bridges does indeed give one of his top performances as Bad Blake, an aging one-time country star who is now delimited to playing bowling alleys and dive-bars. Blake recalls the era of Outlaw country when legends like Merle Haggard and David Allen Coe wrote and recorded authentic songs from their hearts, not the mass produced products aimed at college girls and white trash that serves to make the Nashville record industry millions and millions of dollars today.
